He was one of the most lethal weapons in the league when he stepped up to the plate. For his fine season the Sub League 2 announced today that Cadiz was the Outstanding Hitter Award winner for the year 2023.
The Black Pirates second baseman bombarded opposing moundsmen with a .330 batting average, 34 doubles, 2 triples, 17 home runs and 99 RBIs while compiling a .402 on-base percentage and scoring 71 runs.
For being named the SL2's best batter Cadiz will be honored at the SION Baseball Writers awards banquet this weekend. |  | Thursday, September 28th, 2023: Mark Andre Captures Best Bat Trophy Mark Andre slapped, slashed and slugged the baseball all over Sub League 1 ballparks to pull in a majority of the votes for the Outstanding Hitter Award for 2023.
The designated hitter for Lehigh Valley put up a .332 average as he pounded out 173 hits, 62 doubles, 15 triples, 10 home runs, 84 RBIs and scored 90 runs.

And what a pitcher! Sub League 2 batsmen were bewitched, bothered and bewildered this year by the 2023 Outstanding Pitcher Award winner, Fernando Bengoa of the Colorado Springs Dragonflies.
The Colorado Springs ace started 26 games, threw 183 innings, struck out 103 and gave out 50 free passes. In all, he compiled a 17-2 record with a 2.85 ERA and held the opposition to a .236 batting average.
