John Swanger was on fire today and sparked his club to a 9-1 victory over the Indians. The Texas left fielder was a tough out and went 5 for 5 against Cleveland in a fine hitting display.
"I got my pitches and I connected. They all found the right holes on the diamond. Some days you hit shots and they're right at somebody...and some days they fall in."
J. Swanger singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off S. Alderson in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
So far this season Swanger is batting .333 with 6 home runs.

Craig Cooke put on a hitting clinic today as the Indians dumped the Athletics 13-0 at Cleveland Field. The Cleveland right fielder sprayed hits all over the ballpark by lashing Oakland pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats in the game.
He told SION reporters after the game, that he just hit it where they pitched it. "Too often I try to pull the ball too much. Today I just went with the pitch."
C. Cooke singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, hit a two-run single in the 4th, singled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off A. Mendoza in the 8th.
For the season, Cooke is hitting at a .308 clip with 3 home runs, 43 RBIs and has scored 44 runs. He has 114 hits, 23 walks and a .348 on-base percentage.
